At Sitting of RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs

At May 23 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan the bill on Making Addendum to the Law on Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement was debated `in the first reading.

The deputy Anna Karapetyan and the representative of the Government, the RA Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan positively assessed the initiative establishing privileges for military servicemen. The bill was endorsed.

The deputy Nazeli Baghdasaryan urged to leave the draft law unchanged, and the RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Artak Asatryand proposed to leave the article of the law under debate unchanged. The initiative was not endorsed by the Committee.

The RA First Minister of Justice Artak Asatryan in the first reading presented the bill on Making Addendum to the Criminal Code. The bill was endorsed.

The bill on Amending the Law on Guarantees of the Activity of the RA National Assembly Deputy was debated in the first reading.

The Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan and the Committee members welcomed the initiative directed to the improvement of the MP’s status.

The MP Sisak Gabrielyan proposed to make amendment to the draft law. The draft law was endorsed.

The package of bills on Making Addendum to the RA Criminal Code and on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Offences was debated in the first reading.

The RA Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan presented the viewpoint of the Government.

The Committee Chair has noted that he is against the formulations under proposal.

The MP Naira Zohrabyan accepted the proposal of the Government to postpone the debate of the item up to two months.

The bill on the Support of the Persons Who Suffered during the Events Occurred in the City of Yerevan from March 1-2, 2008 and the bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure Code and the presented package of bills enclosed to it.

A decision was amde to continue the sitting on May 27 at 10:00.
